First Socially Responsible Supply chain based on Blockchain & Artificial Intelligence
Most of the products that we buy have long value chains, which include both formal and informal sectors where traceability of the products and the workers involved can be challenging. This creates an environment that results in different forms of exploitation including Child Labour, Harassment, Poor Working Conditions and Wage Payments.
Namahe is building an end to end supply chain platform to support ethical business conduct. The platform can be used by companies to have full transparency in their supply chains, thereby ensuring ethical sourcing, reducing auditing costs and lowering the risk of negative publicity.
The platform forms the basis for the Namahe Marketplace where profile, experience and history of a worker / supplier can be used and where small and medium size retailers, suppliers and workers are able to trade together in the Namahe Ecosystem.
Creating transparency throughout the supply chain by decentralizing the data using Blockchain and providing a common platform for information sharing by all stakeholders involved.
Transparency and connectivity created by the Namahe Ecosystem would enable ethical sourcing in different supply chains thereby helping reduce exploitation by creating tools and interfaces for each tier and empowering all stakeholders through the use of blockchain.
Where retailers and suppliers, big and small are able to register, engage and trade. Using the Namahe would provide a platform where small and medium size retailers, suppliers and workers’ groups are able to trade together in a secure marketplace with confidence without the need for expensive travel trips or paying commissions to the mediators.
The global fashion market is valued at 3 trillion US dollars.Namahe represents a major opportunity to introduce a disruptive idea that addresses both inefficiencies in the value chain and social inequalities. Brands adopting Namahe’s solution will show full transparency of their supply chain, therefore avoiding negative publicity, saving on big audits and maintaining customer loyalty.
We envisage a subscription based service revenue model for brands wishing to use our platform. This cost would be a fraction of their current spend on ethical sourcing initiatives with a business case that delivers cost savings, increased assurance and lower risks.
Namahe is underpinned by permissioned IBM Hyperledger blockchain platform and Google AI.
AI in supply chain is a new trend which aims to eliminates inefficiencies introduced by long tail items, lack of transparency, seasonality, new product lines etc. The AI in Namahe does the above and additionally acts as a silent assistant monitoring the health of all interactions along the chain against fuzzy thresholds (set by the machine) looking for anomalies from prescribed patterns.
When it detects delays, fraud or external events (such as floods) that are likely to impact the operation of the supply chain, it triggers a series of corrective actions including notifications and programmed actions based on its confidence levels of prediction.
